Welcome to my second Friday Favorites blog post featuring 5 of my favorite face masks.
Face masks are beauty treatments commonly offered by day spas but rarely included in a woman’s at home skin care regimen. Masks are results driven superheroes when it comes to skin care products as they provide a boost of ingredients to the skin in a concentrated formula that is targeted to treat specific skin concerns. If you aren’t utilizing a face mask in your regular skin care regimen, you should be!! To learn more about different types of skin care masks, check out my examiner article, “The best face masks for skin type”
I love this day mask and use it on mornings that my skin needs an extra boost. Whether from dehydration or a busy schedule that doesn’t permit enough beauty sleep, I can count on Omorovicza’s Gold Hydralifting mask to help me put my “best face forward”. This rich, velvety formula has a lovely rose scent and contains three types of hyaluronic acid that work together to create a time released formula for lasting results. The added ingredient, colloidal gold, works as a powerful anti-inflammatory to restore and strengthen the skin barrier.
Gold Hydralifting Mask delivers instant hydration to parched skin and minimizes fine lines. This mask is a “must have” morning treatment on days when I have important business meetings or long events.
To use, cleanse skin as you normally would then apply a generous layer of Gold Hydralifting Mask to face, neck and décolleté. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes then tissue off prior to proceeding with your regular morning skin care regimen.
(Kelly’s pro tip: Store your eye creams and face masks in the refrigerator for an even more refreshing and soothing experience. I store all of my eye creams, face gels and face masks in a small refrigerator in my studio)
Omorovicza’s Instant Plumping Mask was my first mask experience from the luxury brand from Budapest and continues to be my favorite nighttime skin treatment. This antiaging powerhouse formula performs far beyond what the name claims, using hyaluronic filling spheres to swell and plump the skin. Omega 6 ceramides work to strengthen the skins natural barrier function, lock in hydration and protect the skin from environmental aggressors and free radicals. Instant Plumping Mask also contains polypeptides that work to boost the production of collagen and elastin which promotes firmer skin. After a single use my skin felt much softer to the touch and the fine lines around my eyes and mouth were less visible upon waking.
To apply, dot a generous amount of Instant Plumping Mask to the forehead, both sides of the nose/cheek area, chin and neck. Mist face with a floral hydrosol or Omorovicza’s Queen of Hungary Mist then massage product into skin. (Do not use toners or any facial mists that contain alcohol which is drying to the skin)
I typically use Instant Plumping Mask one or two times per week making sure to leave at least a 72 hour gap between uses for maximum results.
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask $92
Black tea delivers a potent dose of antioxidants to the skin, which minimize puffiness, improves elasticity and helps protect skin cells from environmental elements. The formula has a whipped texture, making it difficult to create a thick layer of product on the skin. Unlike many formulas, a little goes a long way with this anti-aging mask that has an immediate cooling sensation that is refreshing to the skin. (One of my favorite treatments following a pool or lake day!)
If you have read many of my skin care articles, you know how much I LOVE glycolic acid. REN’s Glycolic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask is one of my favorite treatments to brighten skin tone, add radiance to lackluster skin and minimize pores. Glycolic and lactic acids work together to create a gentle yet thorough chemical exfoliation to the skin without irritation and promote overall more radiant healthy glow to the skin.
Application for this mask is a bit different that the previous masks in my “Friday Favorites” list. Apply a generous amount to cleansed skin and leave for 7 to 10 minutes then gently stipple fingers across the skin (pat and lift fingertips in a quick, yet gentle motion). This action helps to lift dead skin cells from the skin prior to removing the mask with warm water.
The final favorite in my “favorite mask” collection is a clay mask that varies based on what my skin needs at any given time. I usually cocktail a customized mask using one or more of the following clays: French Green clay, Fuller’s Earth clay or Rhassoul Clay. Clay masks are known for their ability to tighten, detoxify and absorb oils from deep within the skin. Rhassoul clay tends to be a bit more expensive than other cosmetic clays but the investment is worth every penny as Rhassoul contains the highest concentration of trace minerals of all cosmetic clays on the market.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read my blog posts and articles. I am trying to be more regular with my posts these days which isn’t easy as each entry typically takes 3-5 hours to research, take images and type. Sharing my passion and knowledge for the cosmetic industry is my favorite thing to do so I hope you enjoy what you read. If you have any specific topics you would like to learn about please share them in the comment section below.
If you haven’t subscribed to my blog, please do and feel free to share with your friends on social media. To be successful as a freelance writer and blogger, it is important that I grow my reader base. One of the reasons I haven’t been regular at posting is the lack of interaction and comments in response to my articles.
Please know that I am writing every word for each of you. I don’t write based on what company gives me free product and in fact, openly and honestly refuse to write about products that I feel do not live up to their claims. There is so much misinformation in the cosmetic industry with every company vying for our hard earned dollars and playing on our insecurities of aging. My promise to you, my readers, is to be open, honest and authentic at all times.
Peace, love and happiness to all!!
