Hopefully you are already a fan of Gareth Asher and the Earthlings but if not, I am thrilled to introduce you to this local Atlanta musical group. Gareth Asher and the Earthlings represent an original style of music best described as a merging of southern soul and folk rock music. Their unique style and friendly banter between band members has created a loyal following for this local Atlanta musical group.
Gareth Asher is the lead singer and backbone to this talented crew of soulful singers. Gareth’s love for music was inspired by his parents, both of which were performing musicians. Gareth has fond childhood memories of watching his parents perform on makeshift stages made from plywood and old trailers for local outdoor events. The passion and love for music that emanated from his mother, a drummer and his father a songwriter/guitarist were the cornerstone for Gareth’s desire to follow his parents lead and pursue a career in music.
Four members make up the core of the band:
- Gareth Asher – lead vocals and guitar
- Joshua Huff – lead guitar
- Madison Laughridge – vocals (my beautiful and talented daughter!!)
- Nicki Thraillkill – vocals
Depending on the venue and style of music planned for each show, guest artists are occasionally invited to join Gareth and the Earthlings for live performances. For instance, this Saturday, August 22nd, Gareth Asher and the Earthlings are performing at Matilda’s Under the Pines, a local art and music venue located in Alpharetta, Georgia. Fiddlin’ Faye Petree, Tray Lander and Jesse Tyler will be joining the band for an evening of music that you will not want to miss! Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online or at the door the night of the concert. For more information visit Matilda’s website for details.
If you have never listened to the sounds from Gareth Asher and the Earthlings, you can listen to a sampling of songs from ReverbNation below. Hope to see you at Matilda’s this Saturday night!
Sending love, peace and happiness to all!
